Description
[146] pp. Collation: a–n8 o10 p8 l8 m12; Text in Latin in 2 columns, Gothic types 8:115G and 13:67G, 32 lines. Fine woodcut head-letters. A capital space with an initial D rubricated with pen-work.
Binding
Contemporary full leather with blind-tooling on both covers, two raised bands to spine (lower spine-end repaired), one brass clasp preserved, small central blind-tool with the mark (IHS) of the Company of
Jesus, brown edges.
Condition
Minor traces of use, but fine and unsophisticated.
Very rare pocket size collection of philosophical, spiritual and mystical texts by some of the greatest ancient, medieval and humanistic Christian thinkers: Saint Augustin, Bernard of Clairveaux, Anselm of Canterbury, Enea Silvio Piccolomini, Maffeo Vegio, Vincent Ferrer.
