A good, solid and sound copy.  With some light toning, occasional water marks else a good sound copy.  Contemporary signatures to the title page in various places. Final blank leaf with some early signatures. Text in black letter in a single column to each leaf.  A scarce work, rarely seen on the market.

​Bound in a rather attractive recent full polished calf binding. Light rubbing to the edges of the spine else a solid and rather attractive period-style binding.  Raised bands and blind lines to the spine.  Lettered & dated in gilt.

John Foxe (1517–1587) was an English historian and martyrologist best known for his work Foxe’s Book of Martyrs. This influential book documents the suffering and martyrdom of Protestants, particularly during the English Reformation, highlighting the persecution of religious dissenters under Catholic rule.
