John Calvin’s (1509 -1564) Commentary on the Harmony of the Gospels is one of his most substantial exegetical works, offering an in-depth analysis and interpretation of the life, teachings, and works of Jesus     Christ as recorded in the Synoptic Gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Calvin also includes significant commentary on the Gospel of John, though it’s typically handled separately from the Synoptic “Harmony.”

Bound in two volumes. Collates complete [48], 806pp. Possibly lacking a blank leaf at the close of Part 1. Second volume collates complete 8, 464,22 pp. Dated colophon to the bottom of the final leaf. A very
good solid and sound copy. Small marginal tissue repair to the border of the title and a handful of very small repairs in the prelims. Intermittent light dampstaining, otherwise a very good clean copy.

Bound in attractive contemporary speckled calf bindings. Finely rebacked by Bayntun of Bath. Raised bands, blind lines and gilt lettering to the spines. A very good solid and sound copy
