John Udall [1560?-1592]  ‘A commentarie vpon the lamentations of Ieremie: wherein are contained; first, the method and order of euery chapter layd open in seueral tables; then a litterall interpretation of the text out of the Hebrevv, vvith a paraphrasticall exposition of the sense thereof: aftervvard, a collection of diuers doctrines, gathered sometimes out of a vvhole verse in generall, or from the coherence of the text; and sometimes out of the particular vvords of the same: vvith examples, now and then, shevving hovv the same doctrines haue bene verified in experience: moreouer, the reason or proofe of euery doctrine: and lastly, the particulary vses, that are to be made of them, for the edification of the Church of God.’

Slim quarto [8.00’’ tall x 5.50’’ wide x 0.60’’ thick].  Collates [8], 195, [1]p. A rare work not often available on the market. Two folding tables present with some losses or wear.

Occasional marks, blemishes or stains else a good, solid copy of this scarce work. Some toning or light browning. Small patches of worming in the odd place. Overall a sound copy.

Finely rebound in a new black calf binding with ornate blind tooled borders.

Raised bands, blind lines and a hand-tooled, gilt-lettered label to the spine.
